Hi Stray,
I just watched your video and read the manual about nativeKONTROL Trigger, which looks like a great and intuitive application! I've been looking for something like this for a while.
I have a question concerning the flexibility of the application: when the template is loaded, can I still freely add/remove/rearrange tracks in my liveset, without losing the functionality of nKTrigger? Or are the individual clips in the template mapped to midi-messages, which you must be left in place? And can I add tracks on top of the predefined tracks?
Thanks for the information in advance!

Hi,
Trigger uses a relatively fixed template, all the clip slots are MIDI mapped. You could add tracks to the template, but you wouldn’t have the same control/feedback over those tracks/clip slots.
I do have something else I’m working on at the moment which will give you control over 128 clips per track and that would work with an unlimited # of tracks. The downside to that though is that there would be no feedback.
I hope that answers your question.
Regards,
Stray

Thanks for the info!
I'm going to test if I can work properly with predefined tracks, because the app looks very attractive... And I'll keep following your extensive work on the pK!

One workaround to fixed MIDI mapping would be to use keystrokes to fire the individual clips, but I guess that leaves the missing feedback problem. That's what I'm using for my own Bome solution right now for selecting tracks and launching clips on individual tracks of the currently selected scene via my Remote SL (no lights on those buttons anyway). I'm thinking about combining that with the PK in a similiar fashion (still thinking about how you did the blinking feedback for clips waiting to be launched. Is it MIDI sync calculated with current global quantize value?).
PS: As far as I read you have your own editor for bome translators, Stray?! So I guess its alot easier for you to enter something like 16 x cursor right than it is for me. Any plans on releasing that editor?

The feedback part would be a hard to explain, but that is why MIDI mapping is required.
As far as releasing the editor, it’s made to work with MT Author and the pK, so I’m not sure it would really be worth releasing/supporting. I don’t know of many people using Author, much less Author and the pK.

I didn't know Author is different to Pro/Classic regarding its GUI and outcoming files besides the ability to encrypt the files. Shouldn't the editor work with Pro/Classic files as well?

No, it’s set up to work specifically with Author and its windows…which are identified (in part) as “Author”. It would have to be rewritten to work with other versions. I’m not too interested in doing that to be honest.
