Just wondered if it's possible to use variables in the encoder bindings for OSC? I can't get it to work so I'm thinking maybe it's not possible but any help appreciated.
I have multiple tracks, all containing instrument racks with chains labelled 001, 002, 003 etc. I'm treating these like patches on a hardware keyboard, so when I play song 1, it is 001 active on all the racks, song 2 is 002 etc
What I want to achieve is seeing the OSC info on my iPad, for the currently active song, but the OSC info will be a combination of information from different tracks and racks. As an example, it might be showing Track 1 p2, Track 2 p4, Track 3 p6, p7, p8. I can get this to work in a static situation by defining the bindings, but I can't get it to change to show the next chain as I change songs. I got it to work using SEL but obviously that's no use across multiple tracks
I tried to do it using a variable, but not sure if this should work or not?
Thanks guys, so is there anyway that the binding address can reference a variable value elsewhere (from a clip name as an example)?
Let’s say for one patch, I have 4 pages of 16 controllers with the relevant read outs, and values....As I understand it I would have to have a binding Macro that reassigns each of those 192 addresses (16x3x4). For my use, that update would just be lots of the same number, so for example patch 006 could be chain 006 across the board
If I could reference a value somewhere/somehow then that means I just type 6 somewhere and they all know their new address. So could be an Xclip that renames a clip, then triggers the binding macro?
