Hi there! I have Max for Live, but I'm not a programmer, I simply don't have the skills to create what I want. I've been scouring the internet for a solution for this, so hope you can help me!
The way I work, I always pre-map my fav plugins to Ableton effects rack macros, then I've set up a custom Launch Control patch so that the first 2 rows of 4 knobs work seamlessly with the 'blue hand' on any device I select. However, I just really want to expand this seamless functionality to include more knobs.
What I really want to do is have on-track macros (i.e. visible within effect rack with no need to open a separate plugin), that mirror the layout of the Novation Launch Control XL. So that would be at least 3 rows of 4 knobs, and potentially 3 rows of 8 knobs.
I want the look and feel of the Ableton racks macros (so you can edit the names of the macros), and I don't want to switch between different banks of macros, and I don't really like the existing multi-mapper macros.
Do you know of a great existing solution, or would anyone up for helping me with this directly!?
Cheers,
Jona

Welcome to the forum. I'm not familiar with a device that could do what you're asking, but take a look at this. That would allow you to achieve similar results to what you're looking for without having to use racks or M4L.

Hi Stray, thanks for the response. This looks interesting, not 100% what I was after, but potentially even more powerful. I have a couple of questions about it though that I couldn't easily find an answer for, just so I can confirm this will suit me. 1) Can the layout of macros match that of the Launch Control XL? (even including the sliders!?) 2) In order to get visual feedback of where the dials are, do I need to open up the prEditor plugin to see? If so, does it just work with one instance in a project? I really like to easily see visual feedback of the macros in effects racks, so just want to understand how this would work...
Thanks, Jona

Not sure on that honestly as I don't use the product. I'm sure the developer could answer these questions for you though.
