I recently was given a Korg nanoKontrol version 1 (the old version) and am trying to find a way to let it be auto mapped to Lives mixer faders in banks of 8 and onward. I have seen this thread which seems like a great way to make that happen but Im not sure if the new Live 9.5 is allowing it to work cause I believe the python script has been changed with this new version.. for a lack of better explanation.
This is the one Im trying to install into the Remote Script folder in Live but it definitely won't show up in the drop down in preferences.
Is there another way to make this little controller usable with out MIDI mapping by hand all the time?
Im not even sure if there is supposed to be a way to set the MIDI device into an "Live Mode" cause I can't seem to find the old manual to this version of controller.
I think I have read that for the new version that you have to do a configuration set up while plugging in the controllers USB cable to get it to work with Live. It was something to the effect of push down set markers and cycle button while plugging in the controller.
Can anyone help me on this little matter? seems that all info and links to this controller is old and outdated or no longer existent (404).

I tried the directions very carefully again but didn't work. I am on Ableton Live 9.5 under OS X Yosemite 10.10.5
I am only able to see a nanoKontrol2 script in the drop down. also it appears that my I/O choices are in reverse then as described in the directions, I think.
I have made hidden folders visible and copied the nanoKontrol folder (with the text file) into (holding option>Go) Library>Application Support>Ableton>Live 9.5 (inserted nanoKontrol folder). This maybe the wrong folder but its the only one I could find that had a similar description as in the directions.
Im sure it must be wrong cause it says Application Data not Application Support like it says on my system, but was wondering if the directions were made from a previous version of OS X or maybe that is a winodws file path?
As mentioned in the thread containing the script, the file path will be different on OS X. It's (your name)/library/preferences/ableton/livex.x.x/user remote scripts.
Uggghhh.. ok now I got it. I was slightly confused cause I have only used the MIDI remote scripts folder up until this point. Thank you now this little controller will be useful . Also my apologies I overlooked the directions IN the post.

Hey Stray one more question about this script. I was kind of hoping to map this little controller to make one of the buttons ( the cycle/loop button) which is on CC#40 to turn on the "Monitor In" button on for any focused audio channel I currently have selected as well as using the stop button to enable the "Auto" button on any focused audio track I have selected.
I am using Push 2 and currently on Push 2 you can not change audio inputs so it makes it hard to, at bare minimum, do any resampling of audio off the master. I have set up my audio tracks to have the resample routing selected as default on creation but still can not use a controller to switch the monitor settings.
I know you could set up a template and MIDI map already created audio track monitor buttons to any given controller but then you would need a dozen free buttons to do this.. that is why I want to make 2 buttons on this little controller turn off and on the monitor in and auto buttons.
My question is can this script you made be altered to do this function? If its easy enough (for a person with no knowledge of using script code text) can you help me out and tell me what lines I can alter to get the desired functions.
In the mean time I am going to try to learn some basic script making for Ableton but this could take a while. I have feeling that the whole setting the button to work on just the selected/focused audio track could be the tricky bit.
User Remote Scripts like this one don't allow for this sort of functionality. However, they can be extended to do this sort of thing via ClyphX. The latter part of the following video gives an example of that: www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHQR8EvqRyA
Just curious is it possible to edit this scripts text to control channels 9-16 instead? Or better yet if this nano controller controls channels 1-8 then can I plug in a nanoKontrol 2 and edit the MIDI remote script to control channels 9-16? or vice versa of course.
No, User Remote Scripts don't allow for that, they can only control the first 8 tracks in a set. However, ClyphX allows you to change that and you can see an example of that in the video I referred you to.
