PXT-Live Plus Editor is a simple to use, graphical editor for PXT-Live Plus. This allows you to edit modifiable PXT-Live Plus files using a graphical interface instead of a text-based editor. This not only makes editing easier, but also prevents errors (some of which could cause PXT-Live Plus to not work). As an example, the image on the left shows what editing UserModeMap.py via a text editor looks like while the image on the right shows what editing UserModeMap.py via the PXT-Live Plus Editor looks like. Currently, this editor allows you to edit UserModeMap.py, ChordTypes.py and UserMidiModeMap.py. This may be expanded upon so that you could also edit UserPlusPreferences. You can download PXT-Live Plus Editor here. Please let me know how you make out with it and please report any problems you run into (no matter how minor). The outcome of this beta (including your feedback) will have a significant bearing on PXT-Live/PXT-Live Plus additions/changes in the future. KNOWN ISSUESIf you create a single page with the MIDI Mode Editor and write it, upon re-opening the editor, the page will not show up. You can work around this for now by creating more than one page.

Was having trouble with the user mode prior to this release. As always, you saved the day Stray!
So far I managed to remap the user pads to match my performance set up. No issues so far! Many thanks!
If only push could display the currently pressed note or chord. just be nice to have that visual feedback in the little screens.

Thanks for the report. As far as displaying pressed notes, that wouldn't be possible currently as User Mode doesn't process pad presses. Depending on the outcome of this beta though, this could change in the future.

Stray, any chance this could be expanded to the drum matrix? I'd be all over PXT-Live Plus if I could edit the default midi notes the pads are assigned to!

You can do that in User Mode. It wouldn't work in Drum Mode as the mapping there is tied to the visible pads in the Drum Rack (or the 8 Impulse slots) and wouldn't work correctly if the notes were changed.

So I guess if I want the cool functions you added to the drum matrix but with a different layout I'm going to have to remap the devices myself.

I was wondering if it would be possible to use the colors one assignes to the drum pads in PXT Live Plus also in the stepsequencer (especially the multi note one) That would not only look wicked, but also be quite useful!

I'm not sure that would be doable, but I'll keep it in mind for the future.

Tried just throwing ableton back in the applications folder and it worked. However still I'd like to know if I had something set wrong while trying to point the editor to the right path. Also in the screenshot it shows in my LiveDirs.txt file that at the end of the path it was /Ableton Live 9 I had tried using "Ableton Live 9 Suite" and just "Ableton Live 9" thats why its showing like that in the screenshot.
The other problem Im facing is that when I tried to shut down Ableton to reboot it for the editor changes to take effect I got an error saying "Folder has been deleted" and it wouldnt let me close Ableton. I moved the application back to the original custom folder I had it in and still had the problem so I force closed Ableton. Hoping I wont have to do this everytime I wanted to make a change.
Really hoping I had something set wrong in the first place while trying to point to the correct directory.

Welcome to the forum. On the first point, you should definitely specify Ableton Live 9 Suite at the end of the path instead of Ableton Live 9. Aside from that though, if the editor was running while the file was being created/modified, you’d need to restart the editor. I’ll clarify that in the docs.
On the second point, the editor doesn’t create or delete any folders, so I’m not sure that it has any bearing here. The error simply states “Folder has been deleted” and nothing else? If so, I could only suggest contacting Ableton to ask them if they can tell you what could cause that.

Thanks for the report. As far as displaying pressed notes, that wouldn't be possible currently as User Mode doesn't process pad presses. Depending on the outcome of this beta though, this could change in the future. This raised my interest: Could it be possible in the future to let us assign the pad presses to to different things in Live. I have in mind a matrix of 8 tracks and 8 of their Sends each to be controlled via the grid by applying pressure to the pads. Any chance for this?!

Possibly. I'll look into it for the future.
