I'm trying to figure out how to perform actions on a clip based on its name. What I'm trying to accomplish is:
If a clip from the track titled 'Bass' has the string 'two-bar' in its name then make that clip's loop length 2B (2 bars). If a clip from the track titled 'Bass' has the string 'four-bar' in its name then make that clip's loop length 4B (4 bars).
I'm basically trying to perform bulk operations on all clips in a track where the clips in that track are not organized/sorted. I want to auto-check each clip and run a specific task on it based on its name (could be based on any attribute the clip has though).
I've looked at modifying ExampleActions.py to create a custom User Action but I'm new to Python and programming so it has been a struggle. I've also looked at potentially using % Variables, but I'm thinking the statement would be too long/unreadable squeezed into a clip with a custom User Action.
Do you have any suggestions on where I can get started with this and/or if this is even going to be possible?
Thank you for your help!

This would definitely be a job for user actions. The first order of business would be to figure out the naming conventions that you want to use. The user action would then need to translate that to ClyphX Pro actions. This would be a bit complex, especially if you're not familiar with Python, but certainly possible. If you need help with it, I do consultation work on the side. Just shoot me an email and we can discuss the details further.
